Last week, Australian based designer Christian Kimber who has been known predominately for his men’s shoe collections up to now, sold in Liberty Department Store in London, Matchesfashion.com and Barneys New York presented his first Mens clothing collection on the catwalk in Melbourne.
Just a few weeks before we had received a special request from Christian asking if we could lend him some sunglasses and optical frames from our made in Italy range to feature in the show.
This is Christian’s first Mens apparel collection, and focuses on muted tones with a distinct military influence in the form of tailored field jackets, loose cargo pants and hues of olive, grey and khaki for the Australian winter months.
The Christian Kimber collection aims to create a wardrobe of easily wearable and luxurious basics made from carefully sourced materials from around the world. From Italian yarns and technical Japanese fabrics, the collection is envisioned to outlive its owner, as they say.
Our handmade sunglasses in subtle acetate colours in were a subtle complement to the collection.
